Support Workers and Host Families are at the heart of LWB and are central to the success of the support the organisation gives to clients. Support Workers and Host Families come from a range of backgrounds and can provide care in a variety of ways. LWB is committed to providing 24-hour support for employees to ensure they create a safe and supportive environment for the person they are caring for.

About the Opportunity

Due to expansion of services, Life Without Barriers has a fantastic opportunity for a number of Support Workers, Youth Workers and Host Families to join their Perth and Country teams on a contract basis (either part time or casual).

The aim of these roles is to support people with complex needs and/or disabilities and/or mental health issues. Opportunities are varied as clients are of differing ages and have a variety of needs. Some require only a few hours support a week while others require host families to provide accommodation and support for longer periods.

LWB's ideal candidates will be caring individuals with a non-judgemental attitude, and an understanding of the lifestyle support requirements of people in alternative care with disabilities and mental health issues. The successful candidates should have strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work with challenging behaviours.

The organisation is looking for people who are available to support clients on an ongoing basis and to assist in the development of strong, meaningful relationships between carers and clients.
